Situated at the distance of 260 km from Delhi - the capital of India, Jim corbett National Park - the first national park of India is located in the newly formed Indian State of Uttarakhand. The park was established in year of 1936. The park is located in the foothills of Himalayan region of Uttaranchal, India. A part of Indian Government's Tiger Project, Jim National Corbett Park is home to rich and variety of flora and fauna. The oldest wildlife sanctuary of India is named after great hunter, naturalist, photographer, author, humanitarian, and fearless Jim Corbett. Jim Corbett lived in these regions and saved the life of many local people from the man-eater tigers on risk of his own life.

The Jim Corbett National Park is famous for providing safe haven for tigers, elephants, leopards, deer, and a horde of other animals. The park covers an area of 521 Sq km. 312.86 Sq km out of total area of the park falls in Garhwal district and the rest 208.14 sq km falls in Nainital District. The park can be explored by open jeep or elephant rides. To view the wildlife of Corbett Wildlife Sanctuary there are some watch towers in the sanctuary.
